I'm seeing a lot of people with chargers are installing catch cans. For the Rams it has caused heated debates whether they are beneficial or not.

Who has them, who plans to get one? Why or Why not?

Why is there a heated debate? Everyone I have seen, it has got all kinds of crap. Seems to work. Why would you not want it on?

some people feel the catch can is not needed and if it was dodge would have put one on in the first place.

We don't need mufflers, yet Dodge put 'em on anyway.

As for a can, the kitty will get one soon. I'm going to be getting a custom one made....one that has a bit of suction on it.....vs the standard cans. Local shop did a few for the guys in the club.....just need to get my ass over there to look at the red parts to see what fits my style.

well it pretty much put the car back to the old days when it used to vent to atmosphere. So now it recirculates back into the intake and gunks it back up. Id say its better to have one than not

That is where people argue about its use. Many people say it doesn't gunk anything up and that these engines are now designed to have it r circulated back into the intake.

Btw....I am not arguing with you. I have often thought I should get one for the ram and now also for the charger

I put one on my 2012 Ram 1500. It catches a lot of crap going into the intake.
Back in the day, this crap was blown onto the ground from PCV valve, not very eco-friendly.

I have read all the debates, and while I do not believe a catch-can does anything to pro-long the life of the engine,
I do believe it has some benefits.

It catches stuff that is on it's way into the throttle body.
It makes sense to me that if you inject a mist of oil into the throttle body it going to stick to things.
I have not cleaned the throttle body or intake manifold since I installed the can in 2013.
When I get home, I think I will open things up and see what it looks like in there.

I also look at it this way, if the engine did not route from the PCV valve to the intake,
would there be any reason to install a device to inject a mist of oil into the throttle body?
(My understanding is that adding that oil lowers the octane rating of gasoline)

This short video explains it better than me:
