Suggested Maintenance Log for Your Charger

Wow. Looks like she is lucky to be alive. She definitely has a Guardian Angel looking out for her. My 2001 looked a little better than that when I traded it. Actually for its age and mileage, it was in near showroom condition. Some of that had to do with the 75 coats of Liquid Glass it got during the time I had it. Here is a photo just before I traded it.

Out of the 87 cars and trucks I have had in my lifetime there are only a few I regret selling. My 2001 Ram was one of them (the others were my 1974 Buick Riviera and 2012 Shelby GT 500). It was one heavy duty son of a gun. Was a 4X4 with the tow package, camper package, and snow plow prep package. Rode like a tank but I loved it.

Actually the Ram saw its first 7 years of service in the salty northeast (Virginia). I am an absolute fanatic about keeping my vehicles clean. I regular used S-100 Corrosion Protectant on all exposed metal parts under the truck and in the engine compartment (fantastic stuff by the way). I also continuously flushed the undercarriage with water during the winters. Not a mark on the truck when I sold it. It looked so good, the Ram dealer gave me retail value for it in trade. I think one of the staff members there grabbed the truck for himself.

I only regret selling my 1968 Pontiac GTO that I bought for $500.00 in 1977.

 

Vehicles have been my hobby since my first car 1963 Chevy I bought from my parents in 1967. At many points in my life, I owned 4 or 5 at a time. Don't feel comfortable unless I have at least 3 in the stable. Some were cars I would buy cheap on AFB resale lots (guys trying to get rid of them before being reassigned/shipped overseas). Once bought a solid 57 Chevy 2 door with a 283 for $50 bucks. Sold it at a substantial profit very quickly. I don't find the DMV paper work to be a problem at all and since I became a USAA member 47 years ago, insurance is anything but a nightmare. Easiest company to deal with in my lifetime. As a senior member I get back a large portion of my annual premiums every year in subscriber savings account distributions and the senior bonus (you start drawing after being a member for 40+ years).
