The mopar site shows no recall yet.

Give it about a week. I’m sure it’s not updated yet as they just announced it this morning

Yeah, I'm just waiting for it to pop up before I try to schedule an appointment for the update.

What confuses me is the article says it can cause a "short" (which to me means a problem with the wiring),
but the solution is a software update.

its not official mopar yet. Just hyped news as usual. If its as big as they say this should be a national safety recall not a TSB.

From what i have read, it has happened to one car only at this time.
Better safe than sorry, though.... :)

BTW, just so someone doesn't come on here and think its not official.

This is 100% official and it has been official since Friday morning When FCA made the announcement about it.

Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the software, and perform a software flash on the engine or powertrain control module, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin July 6, 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Note: Owners are advised to stop using cruise control until the software update has been performed. In the event that cruise control cannot be disengaged while driving, owners should firmly and steadily apply the brakes and shift the transmission to neutral, placing the vehicle in park once it has stopped.
