is there a way to make the active exhaust stay open ? Pull a fuse? Without any cutting or removing anything.

You actually can pull a fuse and keep the valves open - worked on my '17 Scat.

What you do is pull fuse #36 (Electronic Exhaust Valve Fuse) within 15 seconds of starting the engine.
This will leave the vales open - HOWEVER it will also turn on the Check Engine Light.

An easy and cheap way to see if you like the sound.

Biggest complaint with the valves constantly open is the drone when 4cyl mode kicks in, which you can eliminate by staying in sport mode all the time.

ETA: I am old and a cheap-ass, I decided I preferred the active exhaust as is.. ;)

oh wow, I figured since it was controlled by the pcm you couldn't, but i guess that is why you get the check engine light.

I had read about this elsewhere, tried it and it worked on our car.
Basically, the valves are open when you start the car, pulling the fuse cuts the power to the actuators before they close.

My results were the same as others, I did not care for the sound.

I think a mid-muffler delete is a better option, but have not done that, either.
But I'm old and I think the car is loud enough already..... lol

    YMMV

I tend to agree that the tazer might be the most cost effective option, easy to install, easy to uninstall and it does many things other than just open the exhaust.
