Will 2009 3.5 replace my 2007 2.7?

Maybe? I've always liked trucks, Never want to be without a 4 wheel drive vehicle anymore and having a truck kinda goes hand and hand with home ownership. In late 2006 or early 2007 i needed a truck and got sick of having to borrow one or have someone with one take me to get stuff so I traded my 2001 Explorer Sport in on a 2005 Ram 1500 quad cab Daytona 4x4. That was the beginning. I'm on my 3rd ram truck and 3rd dodge car.

Yes half the fun is figuring out how things work, it's like a new found freedom or discovery.

Keeping anything secret or quiet at our house was impossible because we were the family " Cheaper by the Dozen " with 12 kids all looking for attention no one got away with anything. You just did not think about stepping out of line. but every once in a while a short cruise around the block with nobody looking and keys left unattended that little devil pops out and you were gone.

I recall 1 Sunday Spring Morning a younger brother was asked to go into the front seat of my dads car to get his newspaper from the day before and before we knew it cars were honking outside and here he is standing on the seat behind the wheel and somehow got the car to roll down the driveway and blocked the street with a big smile on his face that said lets do that again !!!!

Now that was funny, we all stood on the front porch laughing our buts off and him laughing back.

I think everyone has experienced that feeling having to depend on others because they own a truck. I almost bought one for that very reason. But then on the other hand being bugged all the time to borrow it would be a huge problem for me. Easier just to rent one anymore.

I've often said that if i had a place to store a trailer I would go back to a 4 wheel drive suv but I don't so for now I will continue to own trucks

I have been leasing now for about 10 years since I am allowed 2 lease vehicles per year. I only get 1 though and each one has been a cherokee or jeep type version from 4 cylinder to SRT8 all Chrysler versions and I must say this 2019 AWD trail hawk is hands down the best I have driven with the 3.5 drivetrain. I got it last September and love it. the only hang up I have is getting in it sits so high I must pull myself up in to the seat.

If I was to get back in a SUV it probably would be a Grand Cherokee

Good to know, this is the last year for the Auto Show at Cobo in Detroit to be held in January. moving to June in 2020. It may become an out door event, possibly on Belle Isle before the Grand Prix races. Will certainly increase attendance

    Yep. Same for us.
We bought our property out in the country in 2005 and realized the need for a truck immediately.
I found a great deal on a Ford F150, but by the time we got to the dealer, it was gone.
We ended up buying a 2001 Dodge 1500, 2 door, plain jane, standard transmission, V6 pickup for $5k cash. No carpet, we wanted something we could hose off.

It was my wife's truck, she loved driving that standard on the curves and hills out in the hill country.
We ended up driving the hell out of that truck, including towing our boat.

In early 2013, my wife was approaching a T intersection and a cement truck took the corner too fast and rolled onto our truck.

My wife escaped without a scratch, but the truck was totalled. Seems amazing, but she laid down on the seat as the truck rolled.

The cement company bought her a new truck.
She has been a pretty loyal Mopar girl since the wreck.

I promised she could have a brand new, new car before I retired.
We have grandkids, 4-doors was a requirement.
We usually don't buy new, but rather 1-2yr old. But she has never had a brand new car in her life.
After a lot of looking, she decided on a Charger - requirement was a HEMI since the truck has one.

I think she had a 5.7 R/T in mind, but fell for the Scat after she drove it.
    - I was shocked.

That was her story as well.

I thought she should have bought a lottery ticket, too.
