My wife has an iPhone 7 and it connects to Uconnect, but it seems the "reply with text" function no longer works.
The function used to allow her to send text messages "speech to text" while driving.

Does it work for anyone with an iPhone?

    Follow-up,
I did some more searching and found that you have to enable "notifications" in the bluetooth settings to receive text messages on the radio. The "Reply with Text" feature is still greyed out, but we can send/reply to text messages using SIRI.

That feature might have only worked while your Sirius Guardian free trial was active. It didn’t allow you to reply with voice txt anyway. Only pre determined responses.

Ah, I did not know what that feature was.

But she can generate or reply to text's using 'speech to text' built into SIRI.

    Not an option,
    she hates car play.

But, it turns out that when she used the feature before, it was through SIRI.
I thought it had to do with that "reply with text", but I didn't know that was canned responses only.

Turns out the problem was that her new phone had notifications turned off by default.

interesting, what does she hate about car play?

and yea the whole just using siri alone has never worked properly or well for me with two different iphones and 3 different versions of uconnect lol Car play is the only thing that has ever worked correctly and worked well

she says she hated to have it immediately try to play music from her phone. I dunno if that can be turned off. She has no music on her phone, she is usually using XM or I have a usbdrive plugged in that has music.

Although, I was just reading the carplay app and it says you send text messages through SIRI?

But it says CarPlay is also very popular, so that would be a reason for me not to like it. :)

yes car play does send texts through siri, but its more integrated so when you get a new text it will pop up on the top of the screen and then you will be told over the speakers with siri that you have a new text message. Just connected through bluetooth I have never gotten a notification on the radio that a new text came in with an iphone

also when I plug my phone in and it connects to car play it does not auto play music. Now If I was playing music when I turned the car off and then plug it back in when I get back in then it might pick up where it left off, but the app would still have to be active on the phone and paused. I will check this after work.
