For anybody with 2017 that has this and is coming from a 2016 vehicle with Uconnect access.

Sirius Guardian is similar to Uconnect Access but is different. Main difference I found out is that on my 2016 Ram with Uconnect Access I can have Uconnect read my texts then immediately respond with voice to text with the Access subscription. Sirius Guardian doesn't support this so Uconnect will still read your texts but you can't respond with voice except for 10 predefined messages. Of course all this is using an android phone because Apple doesn't work like this even on Uconnect Access.

There is still a way to use voice to text in the car though. You have to use Android Auto which requires your phone to be plugged in though the USB port, This then bypasses the uconnect connection. Then you can listen to texts and reply with voice. Android Auto has to be active on the screen to get notification of a new text though. To start a new text or phone call you can just say "ok google" and then go from there

I would Imagine it will be similar with Apple CarPlay but I don't have an iPhone to find out with.

Android Auto or Apple CarPlay are great options for anybody that doesn't have the factory Navigation, or anybody that preferes to use google maps for navigation vs the factory one.

To me they both are nice but in my experience dodge maps are always out of date and can't find everything....i think Google is more up to date

when android auto works I can connect to Waze also. Which works better for me since all my FB events go thru waze and since I have been using Waze for looong time all my places I go are saved on there

I have been using to for a very long time. I like the traffic updating. Users update it. A bit better than google maps
