It also loosens the bond between your wallet and Benjamins. Through a proprietary catalytic reaction, it prevents dirt, germs, and remnants of Colombian marching powder from shearing off the Benjamins while in transit and thereby lengthening the service life of your billfold by years in spite of the increased velocity of Benjis in and out. Amazing stuff. :)

The jokes write themselves. :) Anyway, back in reality....I connected with the guy who did the first video on linkedin and asked him for his thoughts on ways to keep out of trouble when pushing the torque envelope on these units. I'll be curious to see what he says.

I wonder what is different internally in the 8HP90 to handle more torque

Exactly. I'm curious to find that out myself.

Edit: There's also two new variants...8HP75 (can handle a bit more power/torque than the 70) and the 8HP95 (can be configured for AWD and RWD).

    Best,

I did see that there was a 8HP75 but not a 8HP95 (you say its a new variant, but I would have thought that is what is in the TrackHawk)

I haven't heard back yet, but I did find a place that sells beefier clutches and some recommendations about another outfit that sells an upgraded version of the trans here:

To be honest, I'm starting to doubt if this whole thing is going to be worthwhile. For about the same dollars, I could just get a used Audi RS7, chip it, and be in the mid 10's or low 11's without all the aggravation.

    Cheers!

that price makes me cringe, 8HP90's must be expensive if beefed up 8HP70's is a popular option

I'm not sure if it's a huge expense or lack of availability (perhaps even both). I'm beginning to sour on the idea of going down this path.
