My guess is that If it doesn't show up on your vin yet when you are there, the dealer will have no clue if it is really not affected or not. btw that's a sexy car in your sig pic
on my truck it was not automatic....It downloaded the updated then a pop up would say that it is ready to install. I think on the 2017 and up chargers since it has the newer radio with car play and android auto it has the ability to download and install on its own.
I'm just wondering because the dealer made it sound like it was doing an install when my wife shut it off. She had no clue there was an update going on.
That's kind of what I thought. YouTube videos seem to show that it downloads and then you get a screen asking you to proceed with the install. My wife says she got no indication that anything was updating. The good news is, they installed some uconnect update and everything is working again. She also now has the hands-free texting capability again, which she lost when she upgraded from her iPhone 6 to iPhone 8. (When we paired her new phone, it originally said "Texting not supported")
make sure your cruise control still works properly. On Ramforum that have been a couple members that said their cruise control didn't work after the update
