Not sure where to put this, but I suppose it is electronic related.

My wife headed up to Waco for a couple of days to visit a friend.
Yesterday, the trunk no longer opens.
Button on the dash does not work, key fob does not work,

she had to get some stuff out of the trunk through the backseat.

I have read older chargers (2008 or so) with this problem that turned out to be a broken wire at the trunk. The were able to open it with a key and splice the wire, I don't think her 2017 has a way to open the trunk with a key.

I had her try a couple of different things, but have told her to head to the dealer on Monday when she gets home.

Anyone have similar problems? or have any suggestions?

oh wow, i never thought of that with the trunk. There is definitely no keyhole to open it. I don't think there was one on my dart either, but never had a problem. Definitely sounds like something electrical because if the doors are unlocked you don't even need the key with you to open the trunk.

Hmmm........I haven't heard of this either.

Only issue I've had with the trunk......I killed my battery. Couldn't jump the car. Needed to get to the trunk to get the battery out.......ummmm........good luck there. I had a BIG sub box behind the seats.....lets just say it was fun to move that to get to the release handle lol

my battery died it wasnt fun either. jumper cables were in the trunk.

I bet its computer related. Pull the positive cable. wait a few minutes and reconnect and see if it does it.

My USB hub wasn't working. I pulled the fuse for the media hub and it came right back.

    Problem solved.

My wife stopped by a dealer in Waco this morning,
turns out the actuator/solenoid was bad, they put in a new one.
    Works fine now.

FYI, the tech pulled down the back seat, squirmed through and pulled the trunk release to open the trunk.

eazy peazy for a young person. Me, maybe not so much.
